When you connect to the hosted server at https://mcp.videodb.io/mcp, your client asks you to log in to your VideoDB account once, in a browser tab.

How Connecting Works

1

You add the server to your client

2

A VideoDB page opens

It lists what the client will be able to do with your account.
3

You click Authorize

You’re taken back to your client, connected.
Your client handles the rest. It holds a token from then on and sends it with every tool call.

What the Connector Collects

Media and Derived Data

Videos you upload, and the transcripts, indexes and streams built from them, live in your VideoDB account under VideoDB’s retention terms: stored until you delete them, with no automatic expiry. Delete them with delete_video, delete_index, delete_collection, or remove_video_storage. See Security & Privacy for retention patterns across the rest of VideoDB.
