# Update Alert Status

> Enable or disable an alert

Enable or disable an alert on a stream's scene index.

<Note>
  * `status` must be `enabled` or `disabled`
  * Disabled alerts stop sending notifications but are not deleted
  * Re-enable by setting status back to `enabled`
